Ask Premier McGowan
to protect people sleeping rough in WA
Around Australia, state governments are stepping up and providing accommodation for people with no roof over their head.
But WA has moved slowly. The Government has supported some small initiatives, but hundreds of rough sleepers are still out on the street. Some rough sleepers have even been harassed by the police for not being at home, even though they have no home to go to.
This is a population at great risk. WA needs rapid and decisive action through a strategic, co-ordinated and resourced response.
Will you email the Premier now, and urge him to take immediate action?
He needs to ensure people sleeping rough in WA have immediate access to accommodation to keep them safe from COVID-19, and access to longer term social housing and support so everybody in WA has a home.
